Celebrations all round for NHS graduate scheme

The NHS Graduate Management Training Scheme continues to shine with another two top awards – winning one and being shortlisted for another.

Last night (Wednesday 3 April), the graduate scheme run by the NHS Leadership Academy won the Target Jobs Award for Most Popular Graduate Recruiter in the Public Sector – beating off stiff competition from a number of high profile public sector bodies, including MI5, MI6 and the United Nations.

Rob Farace, programme lead at the NHS Leadership Academy, said: “It is the third year running that we have won this particular award and we couldn’t be more thrilled at the reception we have received.

“There is some really great competition out there and it’s an honour to be included in the same category. The fact that we have won this award on the back of student feedback makes it that extra bit special.”

The award is a result of over 23,000 students at over 100 UK universities taking part in an online survey that asked questions about which sectors they most wanted to work in and which they were most likely to apply to following graduation.

Now a multi-award winning scheme, the NHS Graduate Management Training Scheme is a comprehensive training programme that equips graduates with the expertise needed to become successful leaders in the NHS. Challenging work placements and educational components help graduates learn about the NHS and develop the competence required to lead demanding and high profile services.

Karen Lynas, Deputy Managing Director at the NHS Leadership Academy said: “Being honoured with this award is a huge credit to our graduate recruitment team who work exceptionally hard to make sure that all prospective candidates are identified, supported and developed so their talent is recognised and they fulfil their potential of becoming future NHS leaders.

“The outcome of the scheme is core to everything we do at the Academy – recruiting and developing outstanding individuals for the future of health care with an ultimate commitment to high quality patient care.”

To add to its’ accolades the NHS Graduate Management Training Scheme has once again been awarded the HR Graduate Employers of Choice for The Times Top 100 2013 as well as being Runner Up for the Public Sector Graduate Employers of Choice for The Times Top 100 2013, Runner Up in the Best Graduate Recruitment Website for The Times Top 100 2013 and has been nominated in the Best Campaign for Recruiting New Talent category in the PPMA Recruitment Awards 2013 which are due to be announced on Thursday, 18 April 2013.
