Patient Inclusion

The NHS Leadership Academy is committed to patient involvement and the improvement of care and services.

This page will give you a short introduction to our work with patients, which is a significant part of who we are and what we do.

We believe that we can only do our job if we remain individually, collectively and organisationally rooted in the core purpose of what we do – improving care for patients, through more engaged staff, through better leadership.

We are lucky to have learnt from – and with – exceptional patient leaders to date, and will continue to do so. And as we ask our participants; keep your mind open for challenge, questions and further learning.  Our commitment is ongoing and we are always looking to improve. We welcome patients to share their experiences with us.

Over the following weeks and months we will continue to add stories from those contributing, our learning from work so far, what we are changing and developing in response to feedback, examples of good practice from other places, and case studies from our participants about what they have done as a response to our work and leadership programmes.
