  1. First of all I want to congratulate all of your leaders who have completed Nye Bevan Programme.

Having done various leadership roles and stood for patient safety, staff well-being, equality and inclusion for the last 15 years in NHS, let me tell you training doesn’t make anyone a leader. It gives you some excellent tools to do a good job. Most of the training you have had is ‘management training’ and not leadership training.

In my Trust we have reduced harm to patients by 90% and we received 45 awards and we have done it by looking after staff and appointing all value based leaders and managers. Of course, we are not perfect and CQC has scored us only ‘Good’ and we wanted us to be the best or outstanding.

No one can make you good or bad leader. It is all about your passion, enthusiasm and drive to make changes and make your organisation safest and the best. You can only do it by creating a good team and by inspiring and leading your team and your staff in your organisation and holding everyone to account.

Success is not when you complete leadership training successfully but when you make your organisation successful.

If we do what we have done in my Trust across the NHS then we can make the whole of NHS safest the best and most vibrant healthcare in the World and this must be our aim and our objective and then only we can be proud of our NHS and our social care

NHS and social care are two jewels in our crown and as leaders we can make both of them safest, the best and most vibrant and the best in the World.

If any one of you want to keep in touch with me follow me in Twitter DrUmeshPrabhu and together we can make NHS and social care the safest and the best

Leadership Academy does a very good job in providing you excellent training and now it is for you to become great leaders and managers.

My wishes are always with all of you and of course Leadership Academy.

The best ship in any storm is your leadership!
