The NHS Leadership Academy is celebrating after its facilities team was shortlisted at this year’s HSJ value in healthcare awards.
The team was shortlisted in the ‘estates and facilities management’ category which aims to celebrate teams which work to ensure NHS services remain fit for purpose and meet service needs while remaining cost effective.
Chris Lake, head of professional development at the Academy said: “I’m delighted that our facilities team has been recognised in the HSJ value in healthcare awards.
“The team has played an important role in helping the Academy expand into larger office spaces so that we can continue delivering our award winning programmes. They work tirelessly to ensure participants receive the best possible experience which they can take back with them to their organisation to make a difference.”
The Academy’s overarching ambition is to transform the leadership in the NHS through excellent development for staff from any background and in any organisation. This award submission covers cost savings on delegate day rates plus the excellence in customer care and facilities management achieved by the Academy facilities team.
On formation, the organisation worked out of a small basement office with around 15 staff. During 2013, the Academy expanded to c60 and developed its offer of programmes and services, most of which launched in that same year.
