If you’re a senior black, Asian or minority ethnic (BAME) leader who wants to progress in your career, The Ready Now programme could be for you. This free programme runs for 12 months and is open to anyone in the NHS working at band 8A level or equivalent.

Having BAME leaders in senior positions in the NHS has a positive impact on building a more inclusive culture in the health service, which affects the care being delivered. That’s why developing the next generation of these leaders is so important to the Academy. We believe our Ready Now programme gives leaders a real chance to develop their skills and knowledge, empowering them to challenge the status quo and make a difference.

Applications for The Ready Now programme are now open. You can find out more about the programme and apply for your place by clicking here.

  1. I am a Consultant within a large hospital in the North West of England. I am aware that I have a lot more privileges than many other disciplines, but still feel that my voice is rarely heard. I would be interested in learning more about leadership in a formal structure, and hopefully improve my confidence in being a part of leadership in a constructive manner in the future.
