The programme is open to all NHS organisations.

Applications can only be made on behalf of a whole organisation joining the programme (as opposed to an individual) to ensure we have the impact, reach and scale the programme seeks to deliver. Applications should be submitted by the senior executive team (or an appropriate individual acting on behalf of the board/executive team). Full commitment of the board to enter into a reciprocal mentoring relationship with individuals from under-represented group within their organisation is required.

Before embarking on the programme, we will work with the senior sponsor to ensure organisational readiness and alignment with objectives around inclusion and diversity, linking to the wider system.

The organisational sponsor will be responsible for the internal recruitment of mentors from under-represented groups within their organisation. The NHS Leadership Academy reciprocal mentoring for inclusion team will act in an advisory capacity to inform internal processes for recruiting mentors and mentees.
