Professionals from across the health sector are being given the chance to find out more about the leadership support available to them from the NHS Leadership Academy at the annual NHS Confederation event.

The three day event which is open to professionals from across the whole of the health care system takes place between 15 -17 June in Manchester.

The NHS Leadership Academy will be at Stand 79, offering a number of coaching sessions, tasters and one to ones with members of their senior leadership team. They’ll give a flavour of how the Academy’s leadership offers and tools work and will cover:

  • ‘Your leadership – shaping context or shaped by it?’ and ‘Self-directed leadership development’, both led by Mike Chitty, head of applied leadership
  • ‘Patients at the heart of leadership’ will be discussed by Dr Claire Price-Dowd, senior programme lead and Chris Lake, head of professional development
  • ‘Authenticity, confidence and imposter syndrome’ led by Chris Lake, head of professional development

Karen Lynas, Interim Managing Director of the Academy said: “The NHS faces a huge task over the next couple of years and won’t succeed without well developed, skilled and compassionate leaders at all levels. We offer a range of support including facilitation, OD, coaching, programmes, systems development and tools to support health professionals at different stages of their career.

“Our presence at the annual NHS confederation event will help us to network with leaders across from across the NHS to understand their needs and support them to develop. I look forward to meeting people at the event.”

You can register your interest in the sessions or find out more information here.

The NHS Confederation event is aimed at executive decision-makers, stakeholders and partners in the NHS and wider health and care industry. The popular conference had more than 1,700 delegates attend just last year.
