Applications for cohort five and cohort six of the Aspiring Chief Executive Programme have now opened

The selection process reflects the rigour of the programme design and the expectation that participants will already be operating at executive director or equivalent level.

Please bear in mind that you need to demonstrate your readiness for a chief executive role by the end of the programme.

The application process will include

  1. Having a talent conversation and gaining sponsorship from your chief executive or chair. You may wish to refer to the Scope for Growth model, outlined in the sponsorship declaration form, (document will download) for career conversations.
  2. A cover letter (of no more than 2 sides of A4) outlining why you wish to become an NHS chief executive, the experience, knowledge, skills, personal qualities, and behaviours that will enable you to become a successful chief executive, and what you hope to get out of this programme, including your areas for development.  Please refer to the eligibility criteria for guidance.
  3. A full CV which details your education and professional qualifications and full employment history. Please ensure this includes daytime and evening contact details, which will be used with discretion. (Of no more than 3 sides of A4).

All of the above must be submitted in order to be considered.

Information drop-in sessions will be run in April for potential applicants to join and hear more about the eligibility criteria, learning outcomes and application process. If you would like to book onto one of these sessions, please click one of the links below:
